Onstage/Offstage Podcast Seeks 10-Minute Plays

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • There are two separate opportunities:
    • 2024 theme: “Missing Home.” This could be any situation in which someone is away from where they are meant to be: a family, a town, a country, a person. Or something else. Is your protagonist trying to return? Are they trying to move farther away? Is home safe or antagonistic? What is your protagonist's goal? What are their obstacles?

Winter 2024 Virtual Play Festival

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Seeking short plays (no more than 20 pp/minutes) from playwrights from around the globe.
  • Also seeking monologues (no more than 5pp/minutes).
  • Musicals welcome!
  • We post your YouTube link of the performance to the festival site for voting. 
  • One submission per playwright.
  • Please include name, address, telephone number and email address on your submission.
  • We do not produce your work; we provide a venue for you to present actors performing your play.
  • There are no costs involved for anyone.

Rogue Theater Festival

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Participants may choose to participate in our Live in Person Scenario whether as a staged reading or as a fully staged production (in person and live in NYC, running 45 minutes to 1 hour, 45 minutes) or Digital Scenario (remote filming anywhere in the world and virtual presentation, running 10 minutes to 2 hours, 30 minutes)
  • Performances: June 3rd-9th (each LIVE show will have 1 performance that performs at The Flea in NYC and DIGITAL shows will stream all week via ShowTix4U)

Native American Artist Lab

PROGRAM DETAILS

  • A paid developmental process of up to one week culminating in a reading in New York City. The Native Artistic Team will choose if the reading is internal or public, all public readings will include a public reception.
  • Professional team of collaborators including actors, directors, and Realm artistic staff.
  • The Realm works with a casting director to help the team find a cast and can facilitate introductions to directors or other types of collaborators.

Performance Grants

Sometimes a specific work of art created by a dancer, a musician, an actor, a writer, is unfinished unless it has one more added and important piece: an audience. Café Royal Cultural Foundation NYC awards performance grants to individuals focused on the production of theater, music, dance, and performance art.

Description: Café Royal Cultural Foundation NYC will award a Performance Grant to individuals focused on the production of theatre, dance and performance art. (All of which can be accompanied by music) 

The Hansberry-Lilly Fellowship

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Two Hansberry-Lilly awardees will be given stipends of $25,000 each year of their graduate education in playwriting.
  • The award is a need-based scholarship to both acknowledge and combat the financial disparities between races and between genders. The awardees must be newly accepted to or currently enrolled in one of the designated MFA programs.

Schreiber Shorts 2024

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • We are looking for completed plays of approximately 10 minutes in length. No play exceeding 15 minutes will be considered.
  • We are seeking a wide variety of plays both comedic and dramatic that are inspired by our theme: Wake Up!
  • While our submission deadline is February 19th, our committee is only able to review a limited number of plays. When we reach maximum capacity, we will close submissions. Any plays sent after this time will be deleted unread, so please submit your play as soon as possible.

    Pace University MFA in Playwriting

    SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

    Admission into the M.F.A. program requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or the equivalent degree from a foreign college or university. Applicants in the process of completing the bachelor's degree may apply for admission.

    2024 Summer One-Act Bonanza

    SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

    • 10–20 minutes in length
    • Up to 5 cast members
    • Lighter fare recommended; comedies preferred
    • Minimal staging requirements
    • Non-published, original works; no musicals, please
    • Previous productions permitted
