I had the pleasure of attending Carlyle Brown's class, which as an emerging writer, was invaluable. Not only did the class provide a space for me to develop the play I'm currently writing, but I learned so much by reading other writers' pages each week. His feedback was honest, insightful, and timely. I only wish the class was longer!

This is one of the joys of PWC: everyone's there to improve as a writer, and we can all learn from each other.

For an Australian playwright, a theatrical life outside one’s own country can feel a very remote possibility. Joining the Playwrights’ Center has given me an enormous amount of new energy and wider scope. It brings the world to my small bayside suburb.

The caring support provided by the Playwrights’ Center is essential for playwrights of every career level. Any time a member has a question, the PWC staff is a friendly phone call or an email away. Such support for writers is unique indeed.

This past year I was able to apply to 78 theaters, and so far have managed to make four semifinals! It has boosted my confidence as a writer. I now feel I have the right to call myself a playwright when meeting new people. It is amazing to be able to do that. Your site is the first thing I check every morning. Better than that first cup of coffee!

I want to express my sincere gratitude. I was overwhelmed with joy in the close, explicit, detailed thoughts on my play. The play has had several readings before this one-on-one dramaturgy session. The attention to every element couldn’t be surpassed. The dramaturg provided lengthy, sane discourse and may, in fact, have saved the play from the shelf and stagnation.
