Frostburg State University: One-Act Play Festival

ABOUT:
The production and staged readings will be held at the Frostburg One-Act Play Festival on 11 November 2023 at the Palace Theatre in Frostburg.
 
HOW TO SUBMIT:
 
Please read and follow our submission guidelines. Submissions that are incomplete or do not follow these guidelines will be disqualified. To enter your play, you must submit the following:

FireWorks, a 4-Week Program for Playwrights

ABOUT
The resources we offer:
  1. 8 hours of rehearsal space a week
  2. A cast of actors, suited to your play's character breakdown
  3. A director from the Pale Fire Team, who’ll work with you to create a workshop process suited to your goals
  4. $200 stipend
The workshop will culminate in a final reading/performance open to the public.

the cell Residency Program 2024

the cell’s artist-in-residency is a selective program that develops new works by artists from across all disciplines throughout an annual cycle. Chosen applicants receive space, funding, guidance and other developmental resources. Depending on the project, artists will have access to production staff and technical support. For publicly ticketed presentations, marketing and box office services will be provided. Projects can range in scope from developmental workshops to full productions or exhibitions.

New Works, New Voices (NWNV) 2024

The Syracuse University Department of Drama is seeking submissions for its Spring 2024 New Works, New Voices (NWNV) initiative.

NWNV was created to support the development of musicals by writers and composers whose perspectives have been historically underrepresented in the musical theater canon. NWNV is seeking completed musicals or musicals-in-progress from teams who are interested in developing their work with undergraduate BFA students.

Seeking LGBTQIA+ Family Planning Plays 2023

Stay True Theatre Company is currently seeking submissions for plays that cover family planning within the LGBTQIA+ Community. Subjects covered can include but are not limited to: surrogacy, adoption, pregnancy, platonic parenthood, foster parenting, among others. 

Emerging Artists Theatre (EAT) Spark Festival open for submissions

The deadline for submissions is midnight (EST) May 31, 2023. There are no submission or festival fees, and participants receive a 50/50 box-office split when the audience guarantee is met. Artists who have packed the house have made $300 to $900 for 30 minutes to an hour presentation. All participants must be fully vaccinated.
