Women's Playwrights' Center at Speranza

the Women's Playwrights Circle (September 2023 to August 2024). All women-identified playwrights who reside in the US are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to women playwrights who are in PA, NY, NJ, CT, and DE. To be explicit, BIPOC, trans, cis and gender fluid women and those who identify on the spectrum of woman are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Meet the Playwright 2023

Once accepted into MTP, each playwright meets monthly with the MTP's Project Manager and schedules two private readings of the play to take place at JCAL. Throughout their participation in MTP, each playwright is expected to engage fully, professionally, and with integrity in the development of their selected work.

Chain Theatre Summer One Act Festival 2023

THE EVENT: 
 
  • Chain Theatre is curating the event, not producing it - each production is responsible for staffing their own director, design team and cast.
  • Your team must be from the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania).
  • Though we will be doing overall festival promotion, you are responsible for the marketing of your piece.

Appalachian Festival of Plays & Playwrights 2024

Submission Requirements: 
Plays must be written by an Appalachian playwright (currently living in a state that contains the Appalachian Mountain Range— which, for our purposes, run from New York to Alabama.)
OR 
The plays must be set in the Appalachian region.
Plays must be unpublished and must not have had a full professional production.
Plays must be full length.
Plays must be submitted electronically.
Submission deadline: May 1, 2023

GENERAL INFO
 
Short Plays and Musicals with a performance time of 15 minutes or less, no more than 15 pages in length.

Writers are eligible to submit up to 2 plays.
