Melonnie Walker is a dramaturg, theatre historian and educator, whose scholarly research is focused on the legacy of August Wilson and The American Century Cycle.  She is the Director of Education and Community Outreach for KC Melting Pot Theatre and has served as the resident research and production dramaturg for four seasons. She is an advisory board member of the August Wilson Society and Regional VP for the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas.

How I identify: I am a heterosexual, cisgender, Black woman who welcomes collaboration with anyone.

Types of Plays: 
My work experience has led me to all genres of theatre, but I have the most experience with classical dramas, such as the work of August Wilson. I am also committed to amplifying the voices of emerging Black playwrights.
