Deborah Yarchun

Deborah Yarchun is a two-time Jerome Fellowship recipient at The Playwrights’ Center. Her plays include The Aleph Complex (New Harmony Project, 2013; University of Iowa’s New Play Festival), The Man in the Sukkah (Jewish Ensemble Theater’s 2015 New Play Festival, Jewish Plays Project’s OPEN: The Festival of New Jewish Theater), Portmanteaux (The Overtime Theater, San Antonio; The Great Plains Theater Conference; WordBRIDGE), FreezeFrame (The Young Playwrights Festival by Young Playwrights Inc, The Peter Jay Sharp Theater, NYC), Painted Desert (Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival), Spinal Alignment (EstroGenius Festival at Manhattan Theater Source, published in The Book of EstroGenius 2011), The Starfire Dance (Fusion Theatre at The Cell Theatre), and Perception Play (FlushInk Production’s Festival of Disturbing Theater, Ontario). Deborah’s honors include an EST/Sloan Commission, The Kennedy Center’s Jean Kennedy Smith Playwriting Award, University of Iowa’s Richard Maibaum Playwriting Award, and The Iowa Arts Fellowship.
