Biography

C. Denby Swanson is a graduate of Smith College, the Michener Center for Writers at UT--Austin, and the National Theater Institute. She has been a Jerome Fellow, McKnight Advancement Grant recipient, and William Inge Playwright in Residence. Her work has been developed at workshops coast to coast, from the the Lark Playwrights Festival, NYS&F, JAW @ Portland Center Stage, and the Earth Matters on Stage Festival. She was part of the NEA/TCG National Theater Residency Program for Playwrights. Her work is published by Smith & Kraus, Heineman, Dramatists Play Service, and Playscripts.com. She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at Southwestern University, Texas State University, Cornell College, and the University of Texas at Austin. She is a member of the Playwrights Center, ScriptWorks, the Dramatists Guild, and Honor Roll!, an advocacy group of women+ playwrights over 40.
