Ron Davies is a British and Canadian emerging playwright whose works have been produced and won awards and recognition in Canada, the US and the UK.
Biography

Ron Davies is an Ottawa-based emerging playwright. He learned his stagecraft working for five years as a stage manager at major theatres in Toronto and at the Stratford Festival. Since 2019 his plays have twice won Canada's National One-Act Playwriting Competition (as well as once placing third and once being a finalist). His works have also been recognized in other Canadian and American competitions. His one-act play "Transitions," which won the Hamilton Fringe New Play Contest and was produced at the 2023 Ottawa Fringe Festival where a reviewer called it "an important new work" that explored "genuine and honest connections and relationships." Other short plays have been produced by groups in Canada, the US and the UK, including "More than Kin" that was the only Canadian play among 6 co-winners in Theatre inspiraTO's international 10-minute audio drama contest and "Parasomnia" which was produced for the Theatrical Shenanigans podcast.

"Wednesday's Children" won Canada's 81st annual National One-Act Playwriting Competition for 2021-22.
