Biography

LYNN MARIE MACY is a playwright, actor and director originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her most recent plays are The Color Of Vengeance at New Perspectives Theatre Company in New York City and The Surprising Measure Of Buried Treasure, Sister Resisters and The Couch Potato & The Armchair Activistat The Theater Project in New Jersey. Ms Macy has participated four Seasons with the New Jersey One Minute Play Festival Most recently hosted my Mile Square Theatre in New Jersey.  Other plays include Doubt & Deliberation, Jane Austen’s Legacy,  Lady Susan or The Captive Heart, A Jane Austen Bodice Ripper, Jane Austen at Prinny’s Palace and Madame Campan's Academy all of which have recently received staged readings in the New York/New Jersey area. Past productions include Northanger Abbey, A Romantic Gothic Comedy (Distilled Spirits Theatre, NYC, Blue Room Theatre, CA & Theater Ten Ten, NYC) which was published by New York Theatre Experience in Playing with Canons, Explosive New Works from Great Literature by America’s Indie Playwrights.Ms Macy’s other produced plays include Innocent Diversions, A Christmas Entertainment with Jane Austen and Friends (also director, Distilled Spirits Theatre, Theater Ten Ten), A Thousand Merry Conceits, A Private Audience with Nell Gwyn (Theater Ten Ten; Bedlam Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Crunching Numbers (Distilled Spirits Theatre, NYC) published by New York Theatre Experience in Plays and Playwrights for the New Millennium), and a translation from German of Schiller’s Intrigue & Love(Jean Cocteau Repertory Theatre, NYC). Macy is Resident Playwright at Theater 2020 in Brooklyn, A member of the Full Length Playlab at New Perspectives Theater Company in New York City and a Member of the Dramatist's Guild.
