Biography

Sarah Galante (she/her) is a queer playwright and fat activist currently residing in Brooklyn, New York with her spouse and neurotic corgi. She received her BFA in Playwriting from The University of the Arts in 2016 and has been writing plays since she was nine (she likes to think they've gotten better each year). She was the script-writer for the 2020-2021 National Philharmonic’s virtual season, and the 2021 PBS Holiday Concert Series, being fortunate enough to write scripts for Norm Lewis, Garth Brooks, and Michelle Obama. She has worked with The Playwrights Center, PBS, The Eugene O'Neill Center, Lincoln Center, 54 Below, The Tank, Dixon Place, The Women's Playwriting Cooperative, Simpatico Theater Company, and GhostLit Rep Theater Co. She was a finalist for the 2024 Jane Chambers Excellence in Feminist Playwriting Prize as well as a Finalist for the inaugural 2024 Terrence McNally Recovery Commission.
