Sylvan Oswald is a trans theater artist who creates plays, texts, and publications. Plays include Sex Play(Playwrights Horizons/Clubbed Thumb Superlab),Profanity (Undermain Theater, Dallas), Nightlands (New Georges), Sun Ra (Whitfield Cook Prize), Pony (About Face Theater, Chicago), and Vendetta Chrome(Clubbed Thumb Summerworks). A recent Dorothy B. Strelsin Playwriting Fellow at Soho Rep, Sylvan is an affiliated artist at Clubbed Thumb, a resident playwright at New Dramatists, and a recipient of a Jerome Travel Grant and a Jerome Fellowship from The Playwrights' Center in Minneapolis. He coordinates the playwriting/screenwriting program at Purchase College/SUNY and created Play A Journal of Plays with Jordan Harrison.
