Pat Smith was born in La Rochelle, France, and raised in Middletown, Ohio. He received his MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. His playDriving Around the House (1985) has been produced around the U.S. and is published by New Rivers Press. Recent poems have been published in Psychic Meatloaf, Haggard and Halloo, Apeiron, The Bakery, The Brooklyner and Eclectica. He curates poetry events for the Brooklyn Reading Works at Park Slope’s Old Stone House. Formerly the editor of Time magazine’s letters column, Smith is a communications director for the instructional staff union of the City University of New York.
