Lowe is the recipient of the Francesca Primus Prize and a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. She was the first playwright in the history of the Steinberg/American Theater Critics Association New Play Award to be nominated for two plays in one season. Her work is produced around the world. Plays include The Smell of the Kill (Broadway debut), Inana, String of Pearls (Outer Critics nomination best play) Map of Heaven, Mezzulah, 1946 and Backsliding in the Promised Land. She is currently at work on The Break with composer Scott Davenport Richards for Signature Theater. Samuel French and Dramatic Publishing publish her work. She coaches playwrights across the country.
