Plays
A young, mentally retarded black man is wrongfully convicted of raping a white woman and is incarcerated in a jail cell next to the man who bombed the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, killing four little girls. The semi-illiterate bomber gives his illiterate neighbor a reading lesson; the audience gets a history lesson; and the wrongfully convicted man and his lawyer get a lesson in American justice.
