Biography

Marc Paykuss is a former award-winning entertainment copywriter from Los Angeles now residing in Pittsburgh. His first play, “The Tinker Bell Situation,” was just given a staged reading by the Core Artist Ensemble at the Barrow Group Theatre in New York City. Marc has written two optioned screenplays, a comedy television pilot which was a finalist in the New York Screenplay Contest, and comedy material for well-known comedians. He performed with the improvisational comedy group “The LA Connection,” at the Improv and the Comedy Store. He studied acting with Jeannie Berlin.

    “No Entry” is a historically based fictional drama that takes place In a displaced persons camp in Germany after WWII. It focuses on a group of Polish Jewish refugees with nowhere to go trying to rebuild their lives, uncertain of what their futures hold.

One evening at the swanky club/restaurant called the Infinity Bar and Grill, Fate is enjoying a drink at the bar when he has a chance encounter with Will and his fiancé, Spirit. They join him and engage in a lively discussion over whether or not we have control over our destinies. Later, they are joined by Kismat, Fate’s Hindu twin sister, who sides with Fate but also offers some insights of her own on the subject.

Successes

"The Tinker Bell Situation" is one of the winning 10-minute plays of the Bonita Springs Art Center 10-minute play competition.  Originally scheduled for production March 19-22 (delayed until June)

In October, 2019, 'The Tinker Bell Situation" received a staged reading by the Core Artist Ensemble at the Barrow Group Theatre in New York City.
