Biography

With an undergraduate degree in art and a master’s degree in bacteriology, Liz Heinecke thrives at the intersection of science and art. After working in research laboratories for ten years, she started kitchenpantryscientist.com in 2009. Her website soon evolved into a writing career, along with regular invitations to demonstrate science experiments on television. In addition to science communication and authoring science books for kids, in 2021 she published RADIANT, The Dancer, The Scientist and a Friendship Forged in Light. RADIANT, a creative nonfiction biography of Loie Fuller and Marie Curie for general audiences illuminating dazzling moments in the lives and friendship of two world-changing women. When she’s not writing or talking about science on television, Liz sings and plays the banjo.
