Biography

My stories have been published in The Madison Review, Cafe Irreal, Into the Void and other journals. My short story, DESTREHAN, was nominated to Best Small Fictions and my screenplay, THE EDGE OF PROVIDENCE, has garnered several awards. I proudly serve in various leadership roles at Women Who Write, Inc. an NJ based non-profit supporting women writers at all stages of their careers. I hold a BA from Brown University in Semiotics, MFA with Distinction from Hofstra University in Creative Writing and am pursuing my Doctor of Letters in Writing and Literary Studies at Drew University. There, I enjoy working as a Writing Specialist for the University Writing Center. My YA/Adult crossover novel, YOUNG MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN, is currently under agent consideration and next up, I see several children’s picture books on the horizon. I thank my astoundingly talented mother for encouraging my life as writer, and my beautiful wife for always supporting my writerly habit. How lucky I am for our two awesome college "kids" who have just shocked us into empty nesting. My website is www.lisanapolitan.com and Twitter: https://twitter.com/4amwriterlisa.
