Kilkieran Valley is hungry—but so is Father Padraig Bones. Returning from Galway to his small boyhood farm in Ireland, Padraig reunites with his brother William, but then skirmishes with conniving British soldiers, rebellious Irish farmers, and a fickle crop. Why did his father commit the crime that shattered his family forever?

Featuring 21 original songs, The Red Tureen was first produced in the 2009 Minnesota Fringe Festival, where it was a Pioneer Press “Must See” and finished 6th in total tickets sold out of 162 plays that year. In the 1980s, the search for gold in northern Minnesota proves a challenge for three explorers and a woman left behind. One act, approximately 100 minutes.

Cast:
"Broken Hill" was first performed as part of the 2013 Eat Street Players Fresh Bites One-Act Play Festival, and subsequently the 2013 Minnesota Fringe Festival, both directed by Michael Sheeks: Clark Donnelly as "Pete"; Paul Doud as "Beak"; Alex Schmuck as "Zoo"; and Amy Luedtke as "Claire". The playwright expanded "Broken Hill" by adding passages from "Bird Icon" (listed separately). In 2019, Applause Community Theatre produced this expanded version, directed by Chad Snyder with Gary Davis: Chad Snyder as "Pete" and "An Actor"; Patrick Holt as "Beak"; Connor Davis as "Zoo"; Amy Luedtke as "Claire"; Patrick Bettendorf as "Dad".

A chance meeting between playwrights Hyman Gaines and Antonia Brunowski spells murder, mystery and mayhem in this psychological thriller. Presented on the Rarig Thrust stage as part of the 2017 Minnesota Fringe Festival. One act, approximately 60 minutes.

Successes

Applause Community Theatre presented a staged reading (socially-distanced via Zoom) of my collection of five short scripts, entitled "Chattered Ends".
