Biography

Halley Platz is a writer-performer in New York City. She loves writing seriously funny stories about young messy characters, especially female characters. She is a graduate of Baylor University, BFA Theatre Performance within the Honors program. Her thesis play, A Real Bitch, was debuted as a part of Maryland Ensemble Theatre's 2018 METLab summer festival, and most recently, her play Sam Shepherd Is Dead was chosen by Baylor University to help kickstart an advanced directing new plays curriculum. She has assisted Emmy-nominated writer Bekah Brunstetter and Tony-nominated playwright Robert Askins, as well as written/performed five-minute one-woman pieces as a part of Ojai Playwrights Conference since 2016. She has performed most recently in BLKS (Ojai Playwrights Conference readings), Romeo and Juliet, and Dancing at Lughnasa (both Baylor University), as well as performed/conducted an early reading of her next project, a new musical Being Saints.
