Biography

Constance Marse has enjoyed a productive career in the writing field for more than 30 years. An award- winning writer with diverse talents, Connie is a past winner of the Florida Theatre Conference Playwriting Award for her play, “And I’ll Blow Your House Down,” which premiered at the Pensacola Little Theatre. Her adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women” also premiered in a community theatre production. Other credits include original scripts for both community theatre and college theatre. Her latest success was inclusion into New Jersey Repertory's Theatre Brut in Oct. 2017 with "The Naming." Her 10-minute play, “The Waiting Room” was selected for a staged reading in the Puzzle Theatre Festival in NYC June 2015. Another 10-minute play, "One Word," premiered July 2016 at Onion Man Productions, Atlanta, Ga. Her other roles in the theatre world include that of director, producer, actor and play reviewer. 

Successes

My short play was performed October 1, 2017, at New Jersery Repertory Theatre Brut All About Eve Festival. The Naming was one of 28 selected from submissions of 450 plays. The festival celebrated the opening of the group's West End Arts Center. 

Onion Man Productions of Chamblee, Ga., selected my 10-minute play, One Word, for production in the July Summer Harvest Festival. The festival opened July 14, 2016, with the premiere of eight new plays. Onion Man founder and artistic director, James Beck, directed.

The 5th Annual Theatre Festival, The Puzzle, in NYC, received 291 ten-minute plays submitted from 35 States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. 12 Plays were chosen to receive staged readings with the Puzzle theatre company. My short play, The Waiting Room, was one of the plays selected in 2015.
