Lena, 50,  attempting to manage herself and the three people in her life: her mother, Ma, 78; her best friend, Carmen, 47; and an adolescent client, Dyyana, 15.  She is forced her to confront  the buried demons of her own past and her grief:  she is a ‘childless mother’.  The play explores the  love between mothers and daughters, between best friends. It is about choice, about abortion, about death, about change.

BEAUTIFUL FIG has received stage readings at The Barrow Group Theatre, NYC (being considered for production in their 2019-2020 season)

It received honorable mentions at Pandora Productions in Los Angeles, CA and at Portland Stage Company, OR.
