CATHERINE CASTELLANI Plays include 2Y20M (read at Dixon Place The Lounge 2016), The Bigsley Project (Centenary Stage Women Playwrights Series 2013, One Year Lease Theater Company The Subletters series 2012, PlayPenn semi-finalist 2012), The Mongoose and the Cobra (Going to Tahiti Productions Reading Series 2014), Ashira 69: Superheroines Collide! (The Tennessee Project at House of Candles and La Tea, New York;  Sacred Fools Crime Scene series, Los Angeles), and Profit (Eclectic Theatre Company, Los Angeles). Her short plays WORK, Gestation, and Organization Man were finalists for the Heideman Award (2005, 2006, 2007), and WORK has had several productions,  including Actors Theatre of Louisville The Tens 2006; City Theatre (Miami) Summer Shorts 2006; Obsessions and Compulsions Festival (Chicago) 2007, and 10 By 10 In the Triangle at The ArtsCenter (North Carolina); published by Smith & Kraus. For children: There Is No E in Ski, The Silent Ones (both plays Turtle Shell Productions 8-Minute Madness Festival 2011; The Silent Ones published by Applause Books), and The Permian Extinction (Applause Books). Catherine has twice been a resident at the MacDowell Colony and is a one-time resident at the Ucross Foundation. She studied at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts Experimental Theater Wing in both the New York and Paris programs, with Anne Bogart, Steve Wangh, and Kevin Kuhlke. She is a co-founder of The Geese, a co-working/co-mentoring group of women playwrights, and she is also a member of The Dramatists Guild and an associate member of The League of Professional Theatre Women.
