Biography

Andrew Saito is Resident Playwright at The Cutting Ball Theater, where Rob Melrose directed his play Krispy Kritters in the Scarlett Night. He is also a member of Playwrights Foundation's Resident Playwright Initiative. Other plays include The Patron Saint of Monsters, workshopped as a Core Apprentice at PWC, and El Río, workshopped with Mixed Phoenix Group in New York, and upcoming by the Lorraine Hansberry Theater in San Francisco. He has studied extensively and worked with El Grupo Cultural Yuyachkan in Peru. Honors: Fulbright Scholarship, Papua New Guinea; Stanley Award; Teaching Artist Fellow, Montalvo Arts Center. MFA: The University of Iowa.
