When David is approached by God to go on a quest, he refuses at first, citing his duty as a family man. However, when his daughter becomes ill, David finds himself spurred to complete God's mission. When he returns, he discovers that God's promises may have been empty, causing him to reflect on the type of man who abandons his family just because a deity told him to.
