Lakeshore Players 20th Annual 10-Minute Play Festival

Lakeshore Players Theatre is excited to accept submissions for their 20th Annual 10-Minute Play Festival! Play submissions will be accepted through December 15, 2023 or until the cap of 300 submissions is reached. Prizes will be awarded for the top three “audience favorite” plays. First place receives $500, second place $250, and third place $100.

University of California San Diego (La Jolla | CA)

UC San Diego MFA Playwriting Program Now Accepting Applications for Fall 2024

UC San Diego’s MFA Playwriting Program is fully funded. We cover all tuition, fees, and health insurance. We also provide funding for living expenses through a mix of teaching and graduate student research fellowships. In addition, playwrights are guaranteed a production of their plays each year in the Wagner New Play Festival for all three years that they are in the program. We invite artistic directors, literary managers, and producers from all over the country to share in their exciting new work. We provide intensive mentorship to our playwrights within a lively community of directors, actors, designers, choreographers, stage managers, and performance studies scholars. We also benefit from a partnership with the La Jolla Playhouse which is located on our campus.
Fee: 
$135 for domestic applicants. $155 for international applicants.
Restrictions: 
Applicants must have or must be about to receive a Bachelor's Degree (not necessarily in theatre) prior to applying for graduate admission. A 3.0 or better grade point average in the last two years of undergraduate or post-baccalaureate work is required.

Southeastern Louisiana University (Hammond | LA)

2024 Inkslinger Playwriting Contest

Southeastern Theatre is seeking original, unpublished, full-length plays geared for a university cast and audience. The winner will receive a full production, transportation to and from Hammond, Louisiana to attend the production, and up to two nights of housing while attending the play.
