Part of the 32nd annual PlayLabs new play festival.

COLLABORATION & INTERPRETATION
This season the Playwrights’ Center will be hosting a series of conversations with artists about the creative process. These conversations are aimed at discovering and illuminating different practices for creating dynamic new theater work.

The first discussion in the series (held on October 18, during our PlayLabs Festival) will focus on the relationship between writers and their collaborators. What is the process of propelling a play from a single artist’s original intent to a creative dialogue? What are best methods for a director to help realize a new play and how does an actor embody a character that is taking its first breath on stage? The panel will examine how theater artists work collectively to tell a story; the challenges, realizations, and benefits of collaboration.

Free and open to the public, no RSVP necessary.
