2017-18 fellowship application deadlines

There is no cost to apply for Playwrights' Center fellowships; please help us spread the word far and wide!

Fellowships, made possible by the McKnight and Jerome foundations, provide more than $315,000 each year for residencies, commissions, and development funds. The fellowship experience is customized to meet the needs of each artist, and offers support in building connections with theaters and other artists.

During their three-year tenure, Core Writers receive play development workshops at the Playwrights’ Center, have the opportunity to be part of PlayLabs or the Ruth Easton New Play Series, and get connected to an extensive network of universities and producing theaters.

• December 1, 2016: Many Voices Fellowships and Mentorships
• December 8, 2016: McKnight National Residency and Commission
• January 5, 2017: McKnight Fellowships in Playwriting
• January 19, 2017: Core Writer Program
• April 13, 2017: McKnight Theater Artist Fellowships
