Synopsis: Sixteen years ago, Alma crossed the border between Mexico and the United States pregnant with a child and great dreams for the life ahead of them. Now, sixteen years later, Alma studies for her citizenship test as her daughter, Angel, prepares to take her SAT test. But just as Alma feels that her dreams for her daughter and herself are on the cusp of coming to fruition, Angel is having doubts about the reality of the American Dream that threaten to unravel everything that Alma has sacrificed to achieve.
