Facility Rental

Facility Rental

Our home in Saint Paul has two spaces available for a wide variety of needs, including public performances (theater, dance, music, film screening), rehearsal/audition space, filming locations, co-working, conferences, and small weddings.

Given our in-house needs, extended rentals are often difficult to accommodate from September through June, but if you are looking for rentals of up to one week long, we may have space available. And if you’re looking to rent in July and/or August, a rental of more than one week may very well be possible.

The John  S. and James L. Knight Theater

This 130-seat, endstage theater has a full lighting and sound system (included with rental), as well as a 4k video projector and screen (available for an additional fee). Loose seating can be rearranged or removed to seat as few as 65. Additionally, the seating can be collapsed to create a flex space with a max capacity of 181. Stage access is granted by 4 doors, 2 on either side of the stage. The theater also has a sizable green room with makeup counter, 2 private dressing rooms, and one all-gender, wheelchair accessible restroom. The green room also serves as a crossover space between Stage Left and Stage Right. Use of the green room is included with the rental of theater, as is use of both the lower and upper lobbies leading to the theater. The theater is on the second floor of the building and can be accessed either by our grand staircase or by elevator.

Rehearsal Studio

This is a flexible space with built-in sound and video conferencing capabilities. The floor is semi-sprung, and there are mirrors along one side of the studio as well as curtains to cover those mirrors. Use of the lobbies leading to the Studio is included with the rental. Use of the “Sandbox” space outside the Studio is NOT included, but can be arranged for no additional cost depending on availability. There are 7 all-gender restrooms available for use in the lobby. 2 of these are wheelchair accessible, and another is ambulatory accessible. Max capacity is 71.
