Biography

Kim Hines is known to the Twin Cities as an all-around Theater Artist!

As a playwright, Kim's work has been produced locally as well as at many, many other theaters across the nation including four productions and two tours at the prestigious Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

As an Equity actor, Kim has performed at many theaters including the Mixed Blood Theater, Illusion Theater, Penumbra Theater, and the Guthrie Theatre.

As a director, Kim has worked with many Twin Cities theaters including Mu Performing Arts, Park Square, Theater in the Round, The Great American History Theater, Illusion Theater, Theatre Unbound, and Augsburg College. Outside of the Twin Cities, Kim has directed at Cornell University in New York, University of Northern Iowa, and Kansas University. 

Kim works occasionally with a creative think tank, Idea Greenhouse.

Along with the many grants and commissions Kim has received for her work, she was a recipient of the Bush Fellowship for playwriting. She sits on the advisory boards for Theatre Unbound and The History Theater. 

Kim has a coaching and mentoring business for organizations and artists.
