Biography

Plays include AMERICAN SEXY (The Flea, The Guthrie), SAND (Women's Project and Productions), PATTY RED PANTS (Live Girls! Red Eye, Blooming Playwrights' Project/National New Play Network), CHICKS WITH DICKS (Stray Cat, Bricolage, BPP, The Kraine, The Empty Space Theater), and the international collaboration MESUJIKA DOE, a bilingual performance created with Tokyo theatre artist Shirotama Hitsujiya.  Trista is a two-time Jerome Fellow, a McKight Advancement Grant recipient, and has been awarded residencies at The Lark New Play Development Center, Tofte Lake, and E.C. Oberholtzer Foundation's screenwriting retreat at Mallard Island.    Recent: THE MYSTERIES with The Flea Theater ("Build It"), PETER/PIPER at Guthrie Studio, ANGEL FAT in studio at the Lark New Play Development Center & PlayLabs at Playwrights' Center, KILL ME DON'T GO with Workhaus Collective, and IN THE WATER, a play about the I-35 bridge collapse, performed at the Mill City Museum.  Her work has been commissioned by The Flea Theater of New York, The History Theater, and New Georges, among others.  Trista's plays are available through Playscripts, Inc. and Heinemann publishing.  

Trista Baldwin is a native of Washington State, and sometime New Yorker.  She is a co-founder and producer of Workhaus Collective.
