Biography

Steph Del Rosso writes plays, fiction, film, and television. Her work includes Precarious (Cape Cod Theatre Project), 53% Of (Second Stage), The Gradient (The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis), You’re Crazy and Life Savers. She is a 2023 New Georges Audrey Resident and a winner of the Steinberg Playwright Award, the Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Award, and the Mississippi Review Prize in Fiction. Her plays have been produced or developed at The Public, La Jolla Playhouse, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Studio Theatre, Ojai Playwrights’ Conference, The Kennedy Center, JACK, and others. They are published by Concord Theatricals and Dramatists Play Service. 

Steph is an upcoming MacDowell fellow and Bogliasco Foundation fellow. She is a former Theater Masters Visionary Playwright and an alum of the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, Clubbed Thumb’s Early-Career Writers’ Group, and The Lark’s Playground. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Headlands Center for the Arts, Willapa Bay, SPACE on Ryder Farm, Caldera Arts, and others. As an educator, Steph has taught Playwriting to undergraduates at NYU’s Playwrights Horizons Theater School and at UC-San Diego, where she won a teaching excellence award. She has led guest workshops at the Playwrights’ Center, The College of the Holy Cross, UCLA, Cornell, and Ohio Wesleyan University and has taught and mentored young writers at 826NYC, Legal Outreach, Girls Write Now, and Explo at Yale.
