Susan Melinda Dunlap has served as a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts. She was long listed for a Leslie Scalapino Experimental Writing Award, was a finalist for a Playwright Center's Jerome Fellowship and the Actor Theatre of Louisville's Heideman Award. Her play, NIGHT FLYER, was performed by an aerialist company in New Mexico and her play, THE DOG GHOST, was produced in a maximum security prison in southern California. She has received funding from New Mexico Writers and Montana Arts Council through the Root and the Bloom Collective. She has been the editor of The Brooklyn Review and created the position of drama editor for the journal. She curated a small theater showcase at Bric Studio in Brooklyn for emerging playwrights. Her plays have been produced in small venues around the country. She has taught creative writing and theatre appreciation and English as a Second Language in a Czech drama academy. She got her start in theatre by stage managing in Prague, The Czech Republic. She has studied literature at Columbia University and pursued a doctoral degree in Theatre from CUNY-Graduate Center, where she received funding from the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center.
