Stephanie Fleischmann’s plays have been developed and performed internationally and across the U.S. at venues including London’s Roundhouse Studio, Exit Festival (France), Noorderzon Festival (Netherlands), EMPAC, Red Eye, Here Arts Center, Asolo Rep, T41, Synchronicity, Briclab, New Georges, Soho Rep, Chocolate Factory, Son of Semele, Roadworks, Knitting Factory, the Public, Playlabs, Interart, the Hollywood Bowl, Juilliard, Integrity, Act 2. She has been commissioned to write opera libretti for Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera (HGOco), American Lyric Theater/Opera Saratoga. She was the 2014-15 Howard Foundation Fellow in Playwriting. Grants/fellowships include: Opera America, NEA Opera/Music-Theater, 2 NYSCAs, NYFA, Map Fund, Tennessee Williams Fellowship, Frederic Loewe Award, Greenwall Foundation, Arts Council England, New York State Music Fund, Whitfield Cook award. Alumna of residencies c/o American Lyric Theater, New Dramatists, Playwrights' Center Core Writer program, MacDowell, HARP, Hedgebrook, Mabou Mines/Suite. Stephanie frequently collaborates with the Lake Lucille Project and has collaborated with British performer Andy Dawson (Birmingham Rep, UK, Mass MoCA). She teaches playwriting at Skidmore.
