Selena Rose Deer is an Actor, Poet, and Playwright. Classically trained from the age of eight through First Stage Children’s Theatre in Milwaukee. She began the pursuit of playwriting, as there are few written roles specifically for her race and gender in mainstream plays. Selena’s artistic works generate empathy, critique existing systems of oppression, and are calls to action, often writing in terms of escapism.
Currently Studying with BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop Bookwriting Basics, NY, NY (Sept. 2022- May 2023), where she is working on her jukebox musical "A Day of Rain", based on the music by Alabama Shakes.
She presently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
