Sarah Bowden
Naperville, IL

Sarah Bowden emerged from Smallville, Illinois a mild-mannered playwright by day and comic nerd with a vengeance by night. Sarah sidekicked it for two years on behalf of Philadelphia’s To The Wall Productions, where she served as an artistic associate. Her full-length Lively Stones leapt into action as part of the Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre's 2012 New Classics Series. This April her short play Captain Incredible Versus The Girlfriend was summoned for duty by Monkeyman Productions, and in 2009, her full-length Two Sides of a River was read at the Painted Bride Art Center in Philadelphia. Sarah has completed internships with Chicago Dramatists, the Arden Theatre, the Wilma Theatre, the Northlight Theatre, the O’Neill Center and the Adirondack Theatre Festival. She received the 2003 Margaret W. Baker Prize for Fiction and the 2005 White-Howells English Prize for Drama, both of which currently hang in her Fortress of Solitude.
