Biography

John Perovich is a playwright, educator, and theatre maker in Phoenix, AZ. John's plays have been performed at multiple theaters including B3 Productions, Brelby Theatre Company, Arizona State University, Cumberland County Community College, Safe Mode Productions, Little Fish Theatre Collaborative, and New York University. Additionally, Perovich’s work has been selected and presented at Valdez Theatre Conference, Festival of New American Theatre at The Phoenix Theatre Company, Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, and Mid-America Theatre Conference. Perovich’s latest play—THE MONSTER OF TEMPE TOWN LAKE —premieres this May at Ronin Theatre in Phoenix, AZ.

John was the founding Artistic Director of Now & Then Creative Company (2017-2020), who's mission focused on the "now"—new play development and productions of new works, while also celebrating the "then"—classics for the stage. He previously served as the Director of New Play Development at Brelby Theatre Company in Glendale, AZ. 

Perovich earned his B.A. in Communications: Radio/TV/Film from Rowan University, M.A. in Educational Theatre from New York University, and his M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from Arizona State University. He is a member of Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas and he also serves as the Southwest Regional Rep for Dramatists Guild of America.
