Biography

The focal point of his early professional training centered on theatre performance at The Piven Theatre workshop, The Audition Studio (Chicago), Player’s Workshop of Second City, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.  In the mid-nineties, he was named the Chicago Cultural Ambassador to Warsaw, Poland sponsored by the Sister Cities International Program of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs.  In this capacity, his writing received First Place in the categories of Writing and Performance at the 1994 Warsaw Festival of Literature.  In 2002, his co-written screenplay was produced by the Union Pier Group and was an official selection at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in Manhattan.  More recently, his one-act play WASHINGTON was showcased at Chicago Dramatists Workshop, produced by The American Theatre Company (Chicago), and published in the national literary journal Clockhouse.  He is a graduate of DePaul University and recently earned his MFA in Creative Writing/Playwriting at Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont.  Professional associations include: ALSCW (Association of Literary Scholars, Critics, and Writers); The Playwright’s Center (Minneapolis, MN); Theatre of Western Springs Playwrights Workshop; Network Playwright at Chicago Dramatists; and a proud member of the Dramatist Guild of America.
