Biography

Andrew Rosdail is a playwright, actor, producer, and occassional director who currently lives in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated with a BA in Theatre Arts and Creative Writing from Waldorf College in Forest City, IA and has an MA in Theatre Arts from Eastern Michigan University. He is the founder of the World Crime League, an independent production company in Minneapolis that focuses on dark comedy and horror.

Something other than “fun fun fun” is happening at the Funhouse. Hank French goes to the Funhouse—a poor man’s Chuck E. Cheese restaurant—to arrange the murder of his wife. Afterwards, he finds himself having a gun pulled on him by his waiter—who has been hired by Hank’s wife—taken outside, handcuffed to a dumpster, and forced to wear an electric shock collar until the restaurant closes for the night. Meanwhile, Funhouse assistant manager Erika puts a desperate plan into action so that she can finally break free from her dead end job.

A world-weary drifter returns to the beach of his youth in his search for his childhood friend, a magic dragon.

Cast:
Jackie Paper-Male;The character appears as an adult in the main narrative of the play, but he also flashes back to when he was in his mid-to-late teens. The actor who portrays Jackie should be able to display both the jadedness of the adult and the youthful naïveté of the younger version of the character Paul-Male, Jackie’s traveling companion. Unscrupulous. Mae-A beautiful young woman that Jackie falls in love with in his youth. Appears only in his flashbacks. The character is in her mid-to-late teens, but should be played by an adult due to her interactions with Jackie.

Successes

My play, The Further Adventures of Jackie Paper, was selected as a winner of Chameleon Theatre Circle's New Play Festival in the category of One Act in 2022.

My play, Spilled Dictators, was presented by the Gallery Players in Brooklyn, NY in January 2020 as part of their one act festival of new works

My short play, The Way I Grieve, was accepted by M.T. Pockets Theatre for their 6th Annual One Act Play Festival. It will be performed this weekend in West Virginia

My short play, The Way I Grieve, will be presented as part the Fine Arts Association's 21st Annual One Act Festival- 10 Below, which will be presented this April in Willoughby, OH

My 10 minute play, "A Single Dollar," has been accepted by MadLabs in Columbus, OH to be  a part of their Theatre Roulette, which will be presented this May.
