Allison Vincent is a Minneapolis-based performer, writer, teacher, and deviser. When not in the rehearsal room, she teaches University Writing at the U of M.
Biography

Allison Vincent is a Minneapolis-based performer, author, teacher, and director. When not in the rehearsal room, Allison teaches University Writing for the University of Minnesota and is a teaching artist at the Guthrie Theater. She holds BAs in English Literature and Theatre Arts, as well as an M.Ed. in Education. Allison is a core and founding member and collaborative artistic director of Transatlantic Love Affair.  Allison specializes in collaborative and devised playwriting and has co-authored over 20 productions, one of which, Ballad of the Pale Fisherman, was awarded an Ivey Award for emotional impact.  Allison is honored to be a 2022 Pillsbury House + Theatre Naked Stages Fellow

Her piece, “Elegant Carnage,” has been previously published in the Dirty Girls Come Clean Anthology and will be recorded, released, and republished by The Empty Room Theatre.  Allison's  satirical sketch “MBGA: Or America’s First HOA,” was published in Roi Fainéant Press’s digital literary magazine, and “Color Me Drunk,” will be published by Rejection Letters later this year.  In June, my short story “Bag It Up” will appear in Unsettling Reads’ upcoming anthology Summer Bludgeon and received an honorable mention in the 90th annual Writer’s Digest Fiction Contest.

It has been said the "cleanliness is next to Godliness," but when a mere mortal tries to touch the face of God by way of her bathtub, the universe's wrath is unleashed upon her.  Set against the squeaky clean backdrop of the 1950's and 60's ideals of what a woman's role is in the home, "Elegant Carnage" supposes what might ensue should this concept be taken literally.
