Biography

Alice Eve Cohen is a playwright, solo theatre artist and author. Winner of the 2021 National Jewish Playwriting Contest for OKLAHOMA SAMOVAR and the 2019 Jane Chambers Playwriting Award for IN THE CERVIX OF OTHERS, her plays and solo works have been performed for over 200,000 people on four continents. What I Thought I Knew, adapted from her memoir—Oprah magazine 25 Best Books of Summer; winner Elle Grand Prix for Nonfiction—is an O’Neill finalist, Jane Chambers Honorable Mention and nominee for 5 Broadway World Awards. Her plays have been presented by New York Theatre Workshop, the Kitchen Theatre, New Georges, Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company, Jewish Repertory Theatre of Western NY, Galway Theatre Festival, Jerusalem’s Theatre Bama, and many more. Member, Ensemble Studio Theatre, the EST Playwrights Unit, NY Theatre Workshop Usual Suspects, and Honor Roll! She has written shows for Nickelodeon and CBS and has received fellowships from the NY State Council on the Arts and Virginia Center for Creative Arts. MFA, The New School; BA, Princeton University.
