WHAT’S BECOME OF FINKLEBAUM?
Manhattan, 1965. When senior marketing executive Neal Finklebaum is found dead in his office under suspicious circumstances, four secretaries—each working for one of the firm’s powerful partners—begin piecing together what happened during his final hours. Sidney, Tadea, Ashleigh, and Camille soon discover that each of the surviving executives had a compelling reason to want Finklebaum gone.
Using appointment books, expense reports, telephone messages, office gossip, and everything they have learned from years of sitting outside powerful men’s doors, the women uncover a web of jealousy, ambition, financial misconduct, and deception. As evidence increasingly points toward the men who supposedly run the firm, the secretaries realize they may understand what happened better than the police—or anyone behind those executive doors.
WHAT’S BECOME OF FINKLEBAUM? is a darkly comic mystery about four very different women whose jobs require them to know everything while being noticed for almost nothing—and what happens when the people who have always been on the outside suddenly hold all the answers.
