The Rustin Arrest
Ten minute play about the 1953 arrest of Civil Rights leader Bayard Rustin for ‘immoral sexual conduct’ in Pasadena. During his brief time in jail, he shares with his cellmate the unique challenges of navigating his role as a non-violent resistance as a Civil rights leader and his strongly held belief about living his life authentically as an out gay man.
