Dr. Carroll B. Williams, Jr. is recognized as a pioneering entomologist and forester. From humble beginnings growing up on the fields of Leavenworth, Kansas as the eldest son of Black and Native American parents, his work produced foundational scholarship on the North American pine forests. In this play, Williams’s life and work is brought to life by the pine trees that he studied, exploring the contributions of Black and Indigenous ecologists at large.
