Romeo gets kicked out of his home, rejected by his mother for coming out as trans. Terrified and alone, he dodges a drug dealer until he is offered testosterone patches. Romeo finds a group of unhoused trans and queer folks, and together they help Romeo find himself. After his first girlfriend, Rosaline, spurns Romeo for being trans, Romeo unexpectedly meets Rosaline’s friend, Juliet. Juliet wholeheartedly accepts Romeo, but Rosaline and Tybalt conspire to end his life. When Romeo kills Tybalt, Rosaline seeks vengeance. Meanwhile, Romeo’s parents search the streets for their lost child. 

This tragedy holds space for moments of real acceptance, moments of trans power, and moments honoring those who have been taken from this world too soon for being who they are. Shakespeare’s text takes on new life with this trans-centered story of star-crossed lovers caught in a class war.
