The Strawberry One-Act Festival Summer 2015

The Strawberry One-Act Festival is celebrating its 27th season, the brainchild of Artistic Director, Van Dirk Fisher, is a play competition in which the audience and the theatre's judges cast their votes to select the best play of the season. The playwright of the winning play receives $1,500.00 and the opportunity to have a full-length play developed by the Riant.

Low-Residency M.F.A. in Television and Screenwriting

The Stephens College Low-Residency M.F.A. in Television and Screenwriting is the first low-residency M.F.A. program to focus solely on television and screenwriting, and it carries a mission: To increase the voices and impact of women in television and film. Some of the most successful women writers in Hollywood will teach and lecture in this program, including Robin Schiff, Nancy Miller, Carol Barbee, Kathleen McGhee Anderson, and Alexa Junge. Veteran television and screenwriter (and playwright) Ken LaZebnik is Director of the M.F.A.

New York New Works Theatre Festival

NYNW (Aug. & Sept. 2015) is seeking NEW one act or short works plays for our 2015 New York New Works Theatre Festival. We are searching for engaging new work that is commercially viable. NYNW is a showcase for comedies, musicals, and dramas told with an original voice and compelling storytelling. The audience and the NYNW Panel of elite Broadway Producers, Emmy award winners, and leading industry professionals cast their votes with the audience to select the best play of the season. The playwright of the winning play receives $500.00 and the opportunity to have their play aired on a local media outlet.
