PlySpace (Muncie | Indianna)

PlySpace Artist Residencies

PlySpace is an artist-in-residence program in Muncie, Indiana, that is dedicated to offering visual artists, writers, performers, designers, and other creative individuals time and space to investigate and pursue their own practices. Additionally, it serves as a platform for experimentation and provocation by catalyzing conversation and collaboration with various Muncie communities. PlySpace facilitates opportunities for residents to engage with the public through partnership and programming that is tailored to their area of interest. PlySpace is a program of the Muncie Arts and Culture Council in partnership with the City of Muncie, Ball State University School of Art, and Sustainable Muncie Corporation, and is generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Millay Colony for the Arts (Austerlitz | NY)

Millay Artist Residencies

WHEN From April through November, Millay Arts hosts 6-7 multidisciplinary artists for month-long stays at Steepletop, the historic estate of poet/activist Edna St. Vincent Millay (We also offer two-week residencies in June and September.) With the gift of time and space, Artists-in-Residence dive deeply into their creative process and projects; works made possible in part by this gift enrich lives and communities globally. WHY As an Artist-in-Residence, your participation as an instrumental member of an intimate cohort -- designed to be both supportive and inspirational -- forges lifelong friendships as well as professional relationships and future collaborations. WHERE Located in the Hudson Valley, nestled against the Berkshires, our sylvan and secluded hilltop offers idyllic meadows and woods and is situated close to various world-renowned cultural institutions. We are 2-1/2 hours from both Boston and NYC; transportation to/from train, bus, airports is easily arranged. At this time, Millay Arts offers TWO juried residencies (more below), both of which require an online application submitted via Submittable.

Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts (Nebraska City | NE)

Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts Residency

The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts awards up to seventy juried residencies per year to established and emerging visual artists, writers, composers, and interdisciplinary artists from across the country and around the world. Residencies are available for 2 to 8 weeks stays. Each resident receives a $100 stipend per week, free housing, and a private studio.
