THE PLAYWRIGHTS’ CENTER AND AUGSBURG UNIVERSITY PARTNER TO BRING ONLINE, ACCREDITED COURSES TO STUDENTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY
New Plays On Campus: University Courses is the latest component under the NPOC umbrella. The Playwrights’ Center and Augsburg University Theater Department have partnered to bring students and educators accredited, online playwriting courses taught by today’s leading writers in the field.
Students may take courses in playwriting, writing for film and television, and writing for digital media. The online course format connects students from around the country with leading practitioners in the field, as well as their peers at other institutions of higher learning. Studying with these working professionals deepens students’ understanding of the craft of writing and the current professional landscape.
Students and educators interested in participating in these courses should contact Dr. Sarah Myers at firstname.lastname@example.org. Course descriptions, tuition costs, and registration can be found at Augsburg.edu.
Registration goes through Augsburg University’s Center for Global Education and Experience. The goal of all CGEE educational programs is the empowerment of the participants to work for personal and social transformation. This philosophy complements Playwrights’ Center’s continued work championing playwrights, diverse voices, and new plays that build upon a living theater that promotes narrative change through fresh and innovative work.
