Class Focus: Text of the Play, Class Level: All Experience Levels Welcome
"I do find the 10-Minute play a challenging but rewarding framework. I’ve written my share of 10-Minute plays which have been horrible. Those which have turned out to be good I feel have been worth the labor and thought.” - Sam Graber
The short one-act play is the perfect way to work on an idea you've always wanted to see onstage. This Seminar by Marvin González (18-19 Many Voices Fellow), will explore the structure and impact of the one-act play, with a special focus on the 10-minute play. The short play is the perfect way to hone your skill and explore new ways of writing.
This is the Seminar for you if:
- You are itching to theatrically express a wild concept
- You want to know the basic "rules" of the one-act play
- You are looking for new ways to practice writing
PostScript: In 2016, Marvin's 10-minute play Prostheses Bound, was selected for the Theatre Masters Take Ten: National MFA Playwrights Festival and Aspiring Playwright Competition.
