"I actually take great solace and inspiration thinking about [structure], in terms of something I can build, piece by piece." - Lauren Gunderson

Plays are boundless; they jump time, span worlds, offer up new language and all in real time on a simple stage. You have a good idea, some voices in your head or a first draft, how do you know what structure will hold these wily first drafts? In this seminar with Haygen-Brice Walker (18-19 Many Voices Fellow) we will look at how structure can serve content as you prepare for the next draft of your play.

This is the Seminar for you if:

  • You want to demystify the basics of a play
  • You are curious about how structure affects your play
  • You want to revisit the aesthetic of your play

PostScript: A journalist once said of Haygen-Brice,  "Imagine a love child sired by Tennessee Williams and Charles Ludlam and raised by Annie Baker."
